Benefits with Friends

A comedy pilot about health care, girlfriends, and spandex

Benefits with Friends is a TV/digital pilot telling the story of a trio of female friends thrown into a peculiar situation when marriage becomes an answer to health care. An official selection in the 2017 New York Television Festival's Independent Pilot Competition.

Official Selection - 2018 Lighthouse International Film Festival

I'm so happy to announce that Benefits was recently named an official selection in one of my favorite festivals. Lighthouse Int'l Film Festival is an amazing fest in Long Beach Island, NJ, a gorgeous barrier island along the coast. The people are friendly and the ice cream is abundant.

And another little plug: Lighthouse has also named as an official selection The PA Stays in the Picture, a short film written and produced by (and featuring) Benefits creator Graceann Dorse.

We're an official selection in the Independent Pilot Competition!

Benefits with Friends has been chosen to be part of the flagship competition at the New York Television Festival for 2017! This is especially exciting because our project numbers among the 71% of selections this year that feature a female in a lead creative role (not to mention we're among the 50% that feature a female creator AND the 38% that have a female director.) Props to the NYTVF for recognizing the talent that has always been present in under-represented groups including people of color and the LGBTQ+ community.

Benefits with Friends will be screening Wednesday, Oct. 25 at 7:45pm as part of Comedy Block 2 at the Helen Mills Theater.
